Virginia Rep. Virgil Goode has introduced H.R. 487 - designed to express "the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union (NAU) with Mexico and Canada."
While several members of Congress have denied any knowledge of efforts to build "NAFTA superhighways" or move America closer to a union with Mexico and Canada, four members of the House have stepped up to sponsor a resolution opposing both initiatives.
Rep. Ron Paul (TX), Rep. Walter Jones (NC) and Rep. Tom Tancredo (CO) joined Rep. Goode (VA) in proposing H.R. 487.
What does it say? Here is the entire resolution:
Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.
Whereas, according to the Department of Commerce, United States trade deficits with Mexico and Canada have significantly widened since the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA);
Whereas the economic and physical security of the United States is impaired by the potential loss of control of its borders attendant to the full operation of NAFTA;
Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System from the west coast of Mexico through the United States and into Canada has been suggested as part of a North American Union;
Whereas it would be particularly difficult for Americans to collect insurance from Mexican companies which employ Mexican drivers involved in accidents in the United States, which would increase the insurance rates for American drivers;
Whereas future unrestricted foreign trucking into the United States can pose a safety hazard due to inadequate maintenance and inspection, and can act collaterally as a conduit for the entry into the United States of illegal drugs, illegal human smuggling, and terrorist activities; and
Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System would be funded by foreign consortiums and controlled by foreign management, which threatens the sovereignty of the United States: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That--
-
(1) the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System;
-
(2) the United States should not enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada; and
-
(3) the President should indicate strong opposition to these or any other proposals that threaten the sovereignty of the United States.
The Resolution has been referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on International Relations, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

YES ON PROP 85
PROTECT OUR DAUGHTERS!!!
Proposition 85 says that in order for a minor girl to obtain an abortion she must first notify her parents. This is simply a common sense law. A parent should be involved in such an important decision as to whether their daughter should undergo any SURGERY but especially an abortion. Would you let your daughter get a hysterectomy simply because she wanted to, especially without your consent or get a boob job? Of course you wouldn't. But Planned Parenthood thinks all parents are bad parents and would endanger their child's life if they found out they were pregnant. They think all teens should lie to their parents and not tell them the truth about whether or not they are having sex, drinking, etc. Planned Parenthood makes millions off of young girls aborting their babies. So it is in their best interest to vote no on Proposition 85 but what about the girls?
Abortions are not easy. In fact, they are filled with all kinds of complications. Psychological, physical, emotional, etc. Abortions are especially more traumatic physically for young girls because their reproductive organs are so immature. Their uteruses are more likely to get perforated, they are more likely to have their cervixes lacerated, get infections and hemorrhage. Left untreated these conditions can be deadly. If a young girl is scared to tell you she is pregnant, then she is not going to tell you she had an abortion, if she doesn't tell you she had an abortion, she might have complications you think are something else entirely, by the time the pieces come together she can be dead. Ask the mother of Tamiah Russell, who had a secret abortion at 15, didn't tell her mother and ended up dead 2-3 days later.
Don't let your daughter end up like Tamiah. Or Holly Peterson who was given RU-486 by Planned Parenthood, and basically sent home to abort her baby without any medical intervention. She was to expel the baby and come back in a few days to make sure all the body parts came out. Holly was 18 when she died. The pro-choice community doesn't want you to remember Holly or Tamiah! Well we think they deserve better. Abortion doesn't solve problems, it just creates a whole bunch of new ones!
Vote yes on Proposition 85 and keep our daughters out of the greedy clutches of Planned Parenthood! Tell Planned Parenthood YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!!!
