Your American Yardstick Book Cover Join our host Bryan Malatesta, as our basic goal is to teach and espouse the Twelve Basic American Principles as written by Hamilton Abert Long in his book originally titled 'Your American Yardstick' published in 1963, then republished in 1976 as 'The American Ideal of 1776'.

The American firm foundation is made up of 3 things:
  1. Right to Life - implying a Creator
  2. Right to Liberty - Galatians 5:1
  3. Right to pursue happiness, which includes private property ownership coming from the 8th commandment 'Thou shall not steal". Theft imply's owning something.
Now onto the 'The American Ideal'

The American Ideal is all about well, America …. And what makes us so different. It is time to talk about it, study it and discuss it.

Welcome to the The American Ideal Radio Show based upon the book titled 'The American Ideal of 1776' by Hamilton Abert Long. The book was originally published in 1963 as 'The American Yardstick'.

We need to answer questions like:

  • What are the basic things that make us American?
  • Why is that important?
  • What makes America different from other countries?
  • Why can't other countries get their acts together?
  • What makes our system of government so different from the rest of the world?

  • Where did these ideas come from? What do they mean to us today! That is the question. While our Forefathers held these truths to be self evident, what do we think about them today?

This show will endeavor to explore and discuss these truths and to see how relevant they are today and how we as Christians might walk humbly before our God as we implement these truths in our lives, families, culture, businesses and yes government.

Remember all politics is local! It takes you, me and our neighbors to implement government. Not unknown invisible folks….. no, it is you and I that live and breathe and interact with each other both secular and government working to do that which God has called us.

The American Ideal is based upon the fact that America is founded upon certain truths that don't change with the shifting winds of time or the political clouds that drift by.
